SirsiDynix Institute Announces 2007 Advisory Council

Industry leaders tapped to guide future of online professional development forum
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 13, 2007 – The SirsiDynix Institute, a forum for professional development in the library community, announced today it has formed an advisory council composed of six well-known library leaders with varied experiences and backgrounds.

Members of the 2007 SirsiDynix Institute Advisory Council include the following: Stephen Abram, vice president of innovation, SirsiDynix; Christine Mackenzie, CEO, Yarra Plenty Regional Library, Melbourne, Australia; Gina Millsap, executive director, Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, Topeka, Kan.; Anne E.C. Norman, director and state librarian, Delaware Division of Libraries/State Library, Dover, Del.; Jeffrey Trzeciak, university librarian, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and David Warren, director, Richland County Public Library, Columbia, S.C.

Abram, who is also chief strategist for the SirsiDynix Institute, explained the purpose of the advisory council: "This talented group of industry leaders is going to help us not only continue the educational work of the SirsiDynix Institute, but also take the program in new directions. This council shares the passion of the Institute for providing free access to industry leaders as a means to spread knowledge to the industry as a whole. Those of us involved with the running of the Institute are truly humbled and grateful for the commitment these individuals have made to further this mission."
